  38. Introduction
  39. ============
  40.  
  41.    Easy Money is a fully relational database with facilities for accounts,
  42. invoices, and transactions. Various search features are available to quickly
  43. analyze your records. While Easy Money is designed for business uses, it could
  44. easily be used to handle your personal accounts and expenses, or even as a
  45. basic address book.
  46.  
  47.    Easy Money was originally designed for Mountain Softwares internal use. We
  48. had specific requirements and preferences that we wanted in a business
  49. database. Easy Money was written to provide fast access and analysis of our
  50. customers names, addresses, purchases, etc.
  51.  
  52.    While we suspect that few users or small businesses will have the same
  53. requirements that we had, we are making this program available as Shareware.
  54. If you find the program useful, we would appreciate if you would register it
  55. with us, and that you include any comments you may have about the program.

  58. Accounts
  59. ========
  60.  
  61.   The main menu is the account menu. This is where the names, addresses, phone
  62. numbers, etc. are kept on your individual accounts.
  63.  
  64.   Accounts are added by clicking on the "Add" button and entering the desired
  65. information. Existing accounts can be edited by clicking twice on the desired
  66. account.
  67.

  69. Invoices
  70. ========
  71.  
  72.   The invoice section is where you record the date, payment method, etc. of
  73. each order. It is also the only place you can add transactions. The invoice
  74. menu is accessed by clicking on the "Invoices" button at the main menu.
  75.  
  76.   Invoices are added by clicking on the "Add" button and entering the desired
  77. information. The date defaults to the current date, but may be edited if
  78. desired. The date format must be maintained if you want the invoices to be
  79. sorted by date. Once the basic invoice information is entered, a transaction
  80. menu will appear for that invoice. There you can add or edit the transactions
  81. for that invoice.

  83.   Existing invoices can be edited by clicking twice on the desired invoice.

  85.   Transactions for a specific invoice may be edited, by clicking once on the
  86. desired invoice, then clicking on the "Transactions" button in the invoices
  87. menu.

  90. Transactions
  91. ============

  93.   The transactions section is where you analyze the results of your income and
  94. expenses. The transactions menu is accessed by clicking on the "Transactions"
  95. button from the main (account) menu.

  98. Marking/Searching
  99. =================
  100.  
  101.   All three sections (Accounts, Transactions, Invoices) feature powerful
  102. search features. The "Find" button starts a new search, and marks all records
  103. matching the search string. The "Narrow" button allows you to reduce the
  104. search parameters even further (For example, you may FIND those records
  105. matching a state name, and then NARROW the search down to those matching a
  106. specific city name). The "Widen" button allows you to widen the search
  107. parameter to include additional information (For example, you could add an
  108. additional city to the search above).
  109.  
  110.   Individual records may also be marked/unmarked manually, by clicking to the
  111. immediate left of each record.
  112.  
  113.   Each menu also has three selectable options for displaying marked accounts,
  114. invoices, and transactions. These allow you to "cross-reference" the various
  115. sections. For example, you may mark a specific name in the account menu, then
  116. move to the transactions menu and click on the "marked accounts" option. This
  117. would display all transactions pertaining to the account you marked.
  118.  
  119. NOTE: Mark ALL records by doing a FIND for a space character or other commonly
  120. used character. Unmark ALL records by doing a FIND for a "qq" sequence or
  121. other characters known not to appear.

  124. Setup
  125. =====
  126.  
  127.   The setup menu is where you enter various information on yourself or your
  128. company for invoice printouts.
  129.  
  130.   The left side of the menu displays a list of GDOS fonts. Fonts for the
  131. printable data and for the forms themselves are selected by clicking once on
  132. the desired font, then clicking the "Data Font" or "Forms Font" fields.
  133. These fonts are used for all printing operations in Easy Money.
  134.  
  135.   The top right of the menu contains the name and address fields for yourself
  136. or your company. Click on the desired fields to change them.
  137.  
  138.   The lower right is an .IMG format graphic that will be printed as a logo on
  139. your invoices. Click on the field display and then locate the desired graphic
  140. using the fileselector.

  143. Version/Contact Information
  144. ===========================
  145.  
  146.   The "Easy Money" selection in the menu bar provides information on the
  147. program version, your serial number, and full contact information for Mountain
  148. Software. If you have any questions or comments about this product, we would
  149. love to hear from you!

  152. Window Recentering
  153. ==================

  155.   Should the Easy Money window get moved out of position, you may recenter the
  156. window by RIGHT clicking on the window title bar.

  170.   Easy Money was written by Anthony Watson using GFA Basic 3.5e and
  171. includes several assembly routines written and compiled with GENST.
  172.  
  173.   The Easy Money manual was written in Pen Pal, a shareware text editor from
  174. Mountain Software.
  175.
